Arizona Home Inspection News & Information
February 17, 2012
Mold, asbestos and/or water damage have got to be the three most dreaded findings on any home inspection report. Together, they’re the trifecta of bad news for homebuyers and sellers alike. I’m a big fan of killing two birds with one stone. Most of the time, it’s the way to go. So if I, as a home inspector, discover minor items to repair, I should go ahead and fix them, right? After all, I am trained to find problems so I must know how to correct them too, right? Sounds logical enough, but not necessarily the right approach for a home inspector. |

Real estate agents refer Integrity Inspections of Arizona to their homebuyers and sellers, and many hire me based on their agent’s recommendation. For that, I am very grateful. But I doubt they would continue to point their buyers and sellers my way if my loyalty was not in the right place. Agents depend on their reputations for referrals and repeat business. Since we are often judged by the company we keep, it is my responsibility to perform home inspections ethically and in YOUR best interest—not the agent’s. |
