I have been hearing about the new environmental reports. Are they mandatory? What are they exactly?

In September of 2006, Arizona HB 2779 went into effect. This bill allows for a third party provider to prepare what’s known as a “Hazards Disclosure Report” when a residential property is sold. This report is a quick and easy way to check for any natural hazard or environmental issues that might be near a property, such as expansive soils and landfills or and old dumps. These reports are not mandatory but may provide peace of mind for the buyer.
